Nice quick guide, was disappointed in all the abbreviations. Plain english without the abbreviations would be much better, as don't have all of them memorized and you have to keep referring back to the beginning of the book to interpret what is listed.

Very helpful for me as a new grad, but sometimes don't have everything I am looking for, but does have most of the critical resources. I use it alot.

Good resource. Very small amount of information. This is definitely just for a quick rundown, but still very helpful.

This little book is quite helpful as a guide for system review, examination and documentation. It's too the point and not wordy with a lot of narrative. I have found it very valuable.

Great pocket tool for new PA/NP.

This book is way to basic for an experienced ED/UC NP provider. If you're still green, this is a good guide for you. I was hoping for more. But, my bad, I should have read a sample first.

I bought this book while I was finishing my NP program and now I use it daily in my internal medicine practice. I just did an I&D the other day and this book helped immensely with my documentation, H&P, etc. This is an invaluable resource, and I carry it around with my all the time. Because I consider myself a new theologian and did not grow up reading the Bible, much less pursuing theology, the title of this book appealed to me enough to buy it. And I am very glad that I did. Kelly Kapic has written a wonderful book that takes on a very deep subject which he knows a lot about. Lots of people do that, but not many are able to write about their deep subject in ways that are accessible to the rest of us who don't know as much about their subject as they do. That's an achievement for a scholar in any field. The fact that his field is theology makes this accomplishment so much more important for theology beginners like me.I grew up in the Catholic tradition, which very much leaves theology to the theologians, most of whom seemed to be priests with lots of degrees. Even after my conversion to the Baptist reformed faith, and despite having a couple of degrees myself, I at first resisted the idea that I would ever be, much less want to be in any way a theologian. But the more I read and studied the Bible and read the writings of holy men and women from across the ages and faith traditions, without realizing it I became a theology student. And not reluctantly, either, like one of those required courses you have to take to get your degree. I was actually enjoying it. Eventually I realized that if we are indeed a priesthood of all believers, then we are by definition theologians.Kelly Kapic lays out why and how this is so in a most readable fashion. Like most of the best writers in this area, his book is filled not only with passages from Scripture—both testaments, and he explains why that is important at one point—but also writers from Augustine on to the present day. Kapic has concentrated his own research on the early Puritan John Owen, so it is not surprising that he quotes him several times along with Luther and others from the Reformed tradition as well. I think, however, that any Christian of any of the three major traditions could benefit from reading this book, whether to gain new perspectives or to be reminded and refreshed in old ones.The book is divided into two parts. Part I, Why Study Theology, has three chapters. Part II, Characteristics of Faithful Theology and Theologians, has seven. This book really spoke to me in several places based on my own pilgrimage, which is one of his themes, but I think anyone who is serious about faith would find the same thing, even though every person's own particular pilgrimage is so different. This book not only spurs you to study, but to prayer as well.I own a Kindle 1100, the basic model. Not from any plan, I basically read the first half of the book on the Kindle, and the second half on my desktop using Windows 8. This Kindle edition worked well on both platforms. I really appreciated that it had good notes, but also a name and subject index, as well as a scripture index. It concluded with a short note on the author that contained a link to a short video of Professor Kapic talking about theology that I really enjoyed.I highly recommend this book. I can't help but reflect sadly that, like many a good sermon, it's the people who really need this book that will not read it.

I honestly don't see how anyone who is either starting to study theology or has studied it for decades would not benefit from reading this book. If you're just starting, it will excited and sober you at once about the task ahead, and if you're a long time theologian it will ground and refresh and challenge you anew.Starting this book, I assumed I would quickly skim through it and have heard most of it before. That did not happen. Each chapter is rich and dense (in a good way), with citations and references to theologians from a very broad (but orthodox) spectrum, both theologically and chronologically. I found this not just intellectually helpful, but also humbling: I felt very tangibly surrounded by a great "cloud of witnesses" all the way through.The chapters about personal character, service, humility, etc. were deeply challenging, and the chapters on faith/reason and history/tradition/authority very helpfully grounding.Like I said, if you study theology at any level, or are even remotely interested in it, I can't envisage a scenario where you would not be encouraged, challenged, and helpfully informed by this book. Very thankful for having been given it!

Theology, the study of God, is practiced by everyone. We all have ideas of God and so we are all theologians. As many have noted, the question is whether we are good or bad theologians. Kelly Kapic in his short book articulates a clear vision of how to study God rightly.His emphasis on a 'lived theology' underscores perhaps the most important of all lessons for a new theologian: all theology is practical. Packs a lot of punch for a small (121 page) book. It's a good book to get you centered at the start of seminary or after many years in the ministry. The last few chapters weren't as good as the proceeding chapters, but overall it was a good book. I especially liked the chapter on humility.

I had to order this book for a class and I have enjoyed it so much. It's a really great book for beginners in Theology. It's cute and small and I keep it on my desk. I have used it as a source for many papers.

A little slow at the start of the read; but not bad if you continue with reading. The meat and potatoes where closer to the end of the book. This was mandatory for a class and would not have been my first choice of reading.

My daughter wanted this for her kids that are 6 and under and the book is pretty silly it does repeat its self each time a page is read also adding the next thing added to the list of what the old lady ate ..it was a fun read but the words are written almost in a circleThe end of the book Does talk about the old lady dying and I'm sure some parents won't like that ..to others it is just good fun humor

Had this when I was a little and I loved it. A bit of forewarning in case you're not familiar. She dies in the end.

Love this book! Just like the one I read as a child. Shows all the things in her stomach as you turn the pages.

A favorite from my childhood I wanted this book for my daughter. We ordered this version and it has two identical pages in a row. The "cow" section is included twice and the horse section is missing.

I have always loved this book, all the rhyming and ridiculous things this lady eats. I wanted to get this to share with my kids. It is a colorful book, and the way the writing swirls around is pretty fun and a cute way to spice up the book. My children thought it was great and we read it often. I felt like I got this book for a steal of a deal.

Great read-aloud. The animals come separately but are a must-have. I just wish I could find it in hardback.

I might not of looked close enough but this is a paper thin book with a CD in it. Which I did not know. So all in all, I was surprised to find the CD and thought is was a bigger book then it was. That is the only reason I am giving it a four. If you want to read it to your child or have a CD read it then it would be a 5. I like bigger words and no CD's. I would have to go back and check to see if this said it had one or not. He is a very smart little 20month old and is already picking out words and likes to read on his own. It is just a little flimsy for a young one.

kids love this story. I love the hole in the book concept. It’s very bright and cute illustrations. Classic for a reason!

I don't come across too many Vietnamese cookbooks, so I was pretty happy when I came across this one. This book is pretty well rounded in that there are a lot of recipes (I counted about 49). The categories are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Desserts. I've been looking for a good recipe for Pho Soup, and the one in this cookbook is good. Also for vegetarians, there is a recipe for Vietnamese Cabbage and Tofu Salad that is packed with flavorful ingredients.I have to admit, there are some ingredients I'm not familiar with. For example the Chinese brown sugar called for in the recipe for Ginger Chicken was new to me. It turns out that it's essentially unrefined sugar that has been caramelized. I am Hispanic and, to me, it sounds like Pilloncillo... also a sort of caramelized brown sugar that often comes cone shaped.ONE NOTE TO THE EDITOR: When paging through the book, my Kindle gets stuck on Lemongrass Beef with Egg. The only way I can get around that is to slide the page selection bar at the bottom of my screen or to use one of the links in the table of contents. I'm not sure if the problem lies with me, but just a heads up.In any case, I found this to be a good introduction to Vietnamese cooking. I'll warn you that there really aren't many pictures in this book, so just be aware of that if that's a deal breaker when buying a cookbook. In fairness, I downgraded my review to four stars for lack of pictures.

Great recipes but some are missing the amounts of ingredients and a few are missing proper cooking instructions.
