The map has creases, but I won't be framing it for show so I suppose that's fine. The main problem is that the map is in Spanish with an English key. Again, this isn't a massive problem, but will cause some issues as most research sites are in the English translation.

Good map (paper). Not laminated, but a little less expensive. Can easily be framed, which is what I did, to preserve its integrity. Otherwise, map can be damaged (flimsy). Overall, I feel map deserves 5 stars, because it meets its intended purpose at a reasonable price. Recommended.

It reads like a less complex version of Tim Ferriss 4 hour body, but with Edgely quoting himself through out.Good for someone who knows next to nothing and wants to know where to start. A waste of time for someone who has spent > 2 years being interested in personal fitness and nutrition.

Not what I expected.........................it turned out to be more.This book is a mix of a memoir, a fitness manual, and a de-bunker of conventional fitness advice.This is about how Ross went around the world and learned about how people from different cultures and occupations lived and trained.An example of this is how he trained with the Royal Marines; lets just say it put everything he did about to train to shame.Now this book does go into detail about how to train based on his travels and his mentors, but you'll be suprised when you see it. I personally havent read anything like this since American Shaolin and am truly enjoying every bit of it.Ross; thanks so much for writing this! Its an awesome book that needed to come out sooner rather than later.

This is beautiful book with thick, glossy pages and lots of photos, charts and graphs. The author relates a number of his fitness adventures and how he trained for them. Pros: interesting stories and tons of fitness research and principles. Cons: the editor either has horrible ADD or was overwhelmed by the volume of material and did not want an 800 page book. There are recipes in the middle of stories, stories with no pictures of main characters and workouts peppered throughout the book. This might be intentional given the short attention span of most adults but I disliked the format. Bottom line: if you are committed to a fit lifestyle, you'll love this book.

I’m biased because this book literally spoke to my soul almost instantly and I didn’t have much of a critical eye when it came to formatting, style, etc while reading.That being said, as a fitness professional of 7 years, I’ve never found a book that spoke to the absolute importance of being your own experimenter and living through doing, trial and error- a lost art of the 21st century.I recommend this book to people who are iconoclast and interested in living with everything they got! The way the book was written allows it to be an easy exciting read without the half asleep head bob of the typical reseach only book in this genre. Having worked in the fitness industy and studying biomechanics and mechmical engineering has given me an in depth knowledge of the science but no experience in real world application with athetes of the highest caliber and this is where i see this book being very valuable. If you love fitness and would like to expand your knowledge to a level that one can only do by dedicating their life to training, traveling, and networking with the best of the best i highly recommend this book because Ross does it for you!

This book has opened my eyes! I didn't know what to expect from it and that was the best choice, because I would have been mind blown anyways. Ross Edgley takes the fitness world to a whole new level with his expertise. I always tought fitness and sports nutrition as something very hard to understand and I also thought it was only a one way road, but I realized that there i so much I haven't even thought about... Until now! I absolutely recommend this book. IT IS WORTH YOUR MONEY AND TIME!

Informative and fun. I’m not sure if the author has a short attention span but the paragraphs rapidly jumped from topic to topic. Some people might find this annoying but I was fine with it. I would not describe this as a cover to cover read more a reference book full of articles and anecdotes. I took the information that was usefull to me and ignored the stuffed that was irrelevant to me. That said I found alot of interesting information in the book and I quite liked the authors attitude and writing style. But maybe not everyone cupcup of tea,

Fun read for any fitness enthusiast. Heard about the book from JRE. Mostly talks about the basics of the body’s ability to adapt to external stressors. It’s good for me to read a book like this occasionally to remind me there’s no substitute for hard work.

I am a reasonably knowledgeable person in history and I found this book fascinating in its depth. While an easy read and not that long, the detail of how George Washington along with his army barely escaped numerous times was enthralling. I cannot recommend this book enough.

I am a history buff and often have to dig through wordy and complex descriptions of times and events written by well meaning historians. Bill and his co-author cut through that jargon and give an entertaining fresh description of the times and the events. You truly get to appreciate the human side of individuals that play critical part in founding of our nation. They bring to life all of their flaws and strengths. You get areal sense of who they were. It is great story telling that everyone can enjoy. The best part - it is our history.

This book brought to life the struggles of the first Americans, especially the signers of the Declaration of Independence and those who fought in the Revolutionary War. The Founding Fathers were not ordinary people. They were philosophers and truly understood the basic nature of human beings. All of their insights and knowledge contributed to the founding documents of the USA. We owe them a tremendous debt.The concept that the rights of man come from God and not goverment was completely novel at the time and is fundamental to the Declaration of Independence. All this became very "self-evident" from reading Killing England. Unfortunately, this is not understood by many Americans today, who trust in the goverment believing that goverment provides and protects these rights. The Founders witnessed King George III's punitive actions on the colonies first hand. These are explained clearly in Killing England and the reader can see the basis of the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the US Constitution.I also came to understand the events the Revolutionary War and appreciate the incredible sacrifices made by the soldiers. I thought I knew a lot about the Founders but did not know that Benjamin Franklin broke ties to his loyalist son William or fully appreciated Thomas Jefferson's personal problems with a very sick wife. I learned a great deal about the contributions of people like Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox, John Paul Jones, LaFayette, and Baron von Steuben. Benedict Arnold's treason is described in detail sufficient to understand that it was horrific.So basically, Killing England gave me a greater appreciation of the events of the founding of the United States of America and the men who gave their lives and fortunes so that we can live in this most wonderful country. Killing England is an easy read and I particularly liked the maps that show the movements of the armies and navies during major battles. The events come to life.

This book is a MUST in every American home, especially in this day and age of revisionist history. Made the characters come alive... Made them "real" and not just famous old guys in a painting. Truly, truly a must. Read it to your children, for the sake of our Nation.

Riveting, just as I expected. Could not put it down. Really enjoyed all of the details about what life was really like at the time and what was happening in their personal lives. Rounds out the picture very vividly. I felt I was right there with them. Very well done!

Full of history not in ur average history books or school books.This is a mandatory read for any and all individuals interested in American History.It may be his best book yet.

Standard from O'Reilly and Dugard..........in a word, excellent. Another thoughtful and entertaining edition in the 'killing' series. A smooth read, lots of action and human interest all tied together with a great history lesson. The entire Benedict Arnold affair is especially well done. Oddly, the authors resurrect the man's legacy to some extent with a balanced treatment of his actions during the entire war. He was a brave, effective battlefield commander during a key moment of the war when victory at Saratoga was crucial to instigating France's eventual entry and final American victory. The battle of Yorktown is also well covered, including the French army's (and navy's) contribution to final victory. It was French infantry that bravely captured an important redoubt in close coordination with Hamilton's simultaneous success with another redoubt British position. It was these actions that lead directly to Cornwallis's surrender and the close of the war. My only regret regarding content is the absence of regard for Nathan Hale beyond a singular passing reference. But, the authors' skill with footnotes (during the read) and the postscripts (after the read) are excellent. The closeout biographical references for the numerous personalities are worth reading and allow the reader to appreciate the war's immediate aftermath on a very human level. This book should be in America's public school curriculum.

I read this book today. All 147 pages today. As a leader in my parish, I have been introduced to Alpha through videos, podcasts, webinars, and through our own parish experience of running Alpha for 3 seasons thus far. Either you love the Revised setting or you hated it and I'm really not interested in swaying anyones opinions one way or another. But I will say that I found quite a few useful resources for my games in this book, so its good enough for me. It starts off with a timeline of history from the Mage point of view, including the new plot devices in the Mage setting, such as the Avatar-Storm, the Technocracy's "victory" and the pogrom against the Crafts. It then goes on to explore the Crafts, giving some basic information on them and their fates. Most joined the Traditions, such as the Wu Lung allying with the Akashics, the Kopa Loei and Bata'a going with the Dreamspeakers and the Children of Knowledge being accepted into the Hermetics. Others, like the Hem-ka Sobk, had more mysterious fates. Full write ups for the surviving Crafts (the Ahl-i-Batin, Taftani, Sisters of Hippolyta and Knights Templar) are given. The book then closes out with two chapters, one on spirits and bygones, the other on Talismans, Fetishes, Charms, Familars and other Wonders. These are fairly detailed rules that were left out of the core rule book.In the end, I've found parts of the book useful. The material on the Crafts, especially the Ahl-i-Batin and Taftani, has been useful in my non-western games. The stuff on spirits and bygones is also pretty nifty, as are the various Wonders. But in the end, it really depends on how much (or little) you plan on using such material. There are other books out there (Book of Crafts, Lost Paths, Forged in Dragon's Fire, Infinite Tapestry, Bygone Bestiary, etc), or you could even use your imagination. So ultimately, just look over my review and think about whether or not it would be worth it before you buy this book.

This book contains some lesser information, not of earth shattering importance, but still important. Mainly information on crafts.A key thing in this book is it goes over every type of wonder! I didn't even know of many of these things until I read this book and learned about them. It gives very good examples of how wonders are made, and even brings up the idea of giving them merits and flaws of their own.Besides the cover, this book is actually very good though some of the Wonder information deserved it's own book.

Even if you don't like the Revised edition of mage I would suggest it just for the rules on Wonder creation. This book gives come GREAT rules on creations. Plus! it comes with the handy dandy ST screen with lots of useful info on it. I would suggest this book to ANYBODY intrested in playing a mage or running a mage chronicle.

This book contains a lot of the material that didn't make the cut into Mage Revised. Including rules for Wonder creation and description of the modern day disparate groups.You learn the rules for creating all manner of artifacts from simple prime batteries to more powerfull talismans that carry a bit of your mages soul with them.Reasons for why the Wu Lung, the Templars, and the Solificati joined as a subsections for other traditions are explained.Overall I consider this book a strong buy. especiall if you liked Mage Revised.

Sure, you can do without them, bu you could surely use the help and the screen is cool and useful.

Excellent book, the beginning of the book, which is the history of where our use of chemicals and plowing the soil started is a little depressing. But the rest of the book is very good about explaining what sustainable farming is about and how we can make a difference by what we buy and what we eat. Makes me want to start my own farm.

I have read several books on the topic of living a more healthful lifestyle. I heard about this book on the Learn True Health podcast sometime in 2017-2018. Upon receiving the book, I noted the foreword was written by the Whole Foods CEO...this made me question how unbiased the book would be. After finishing the book, I can say that I enjoyed it, but it was less satisfying than others written by well-known authors within the same genre. Tickell tells several good stories throughout the book, but I have certainly enjoyed others much more.
